There is a way we can benefit our ball teams, our show choir, our Lions Club, our FFA, our Hospital, our Theatre, academic programs, Fire Department, EMS, and the list goes on and on. There is a way to benefit our groups and organizations without weekly bake sales, prepared product sales, and so forth. The way is a community foundation.
A community foundation is composed primarily of permanent funds established by many separate donors for the long-term benefit of the residents of a defined geographic area.
This is a planned and organized giving that connects donors to the causes they care about. This foundation would empower our community to achieve so many community goals by matching charitable interests with unique financial circumstances.
Imagine the ability of the Buffalo Theatre to apply to the Buffalo Community Foundation (BCF) for the funds needed to pay off the cost of purchase and equipment. Imagine when the ball teams could apply to the BCF for funds to cover the cost of new uniforms. Imagine the ability to apply to the BCF for the necessary funds to build a nice concession and restrooms facility at our ballpark, and restrooms for Celebration Park. Imagine, if you will, how the list literally goes on and on.
Monday, June 9, 7:00pm, at the Buffalo Theatre & Community Centre. I encourage everyone, ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE, to come watch, listen, and get excited. This is a meeting you can walk away from feeling great! Be sure to watch in the Harper County Journal for updates.
I will be happy to answer any questions. I am also happy to call you for the meeting, so, if you are interested in a reminder call, please contact Town Hall (580) 735-2030, and ask that your name be added to the “Buffalo Community Foundation” list.
Friends, Buffalonians, and Countrymen, lend me your ears. This is an assemblage you don’t want to miss.
